Daisy White’s Booktique is an award-winning independent pop up bookshop. The Booktique ‘pops up’ in empty retail units/community spaces and galleries and hosts indie book signings, book launches, and artist days. We passionately support independent business and love to give people an affordable chance to showcase on the High Street. Pop Up shops also contribute to creating a vibrant, exciting High Street for shoppers.
Every time we pop up the Booktique is crammed full of literary lusciousness… selling books, luxury locally sourced goods like candles and chocolates, soft furnishings and art. It is a place where creatives can swap tips about publishing, agents, illustrators, writing, painting and generally have a good network whilst promoting their work. Where suitable we are joined by a host of ‘window models’ (chosen from the local community) bringing those book characters to life.
The Booktique pops up in various locations – anything from a day to six weeks. Dates for 2016 are as follows…
Horsham – Pop Up Horsham shop Jan 3rd – 31st A general High Street pop up for 4 weeks in West Sussex
Cranleigh Literature Festival March March 1st – 5th A week of arts and literature. A 5 day pop up in Surrey. Daisy will be running ‘Ask Daisy’ and ‘How to get Published’ Workshops on Sat 6th.. Please see Cranleigh Arts Centre website for full programme.
For each pop up books and local products are bought in wholesale, with the books on a sale or return basis – I am happy to deal direct with smaller publishers and self published authors who have several titles so do get in touch if you want to see your book on the High Street.
If you are a self-published author I am happy for you to bring your books along and utilise the Booktique for a signing, but please be aware, I will provide the space and the rest is up to you!

Daisy White’s Booktique is delighted to now offer authors and independent publishers a chance to pop up with Pop Up Horsham. Cost is £199 per month, and you need to be present in store for at least four days a week. This is a great opportunity to present your books to the High Street. You can organise signings/meet the author events whilst in store. More locations across the UK coming soon.

Q. How do I get involved?
A. Contact me with details of yourself and your books and an promotional ideas you may have. We will then discuss whether your books would fit into the Booktique, and book any signing slots.
Q. How should I organise a book signing?
A. We normally do multiple signings at our larger pop ups so customers can chat to several different authors at a time, plus the moral support is great! By booking a space at Pop Up Horsham (other regional town centre shops to follow in 2016), you can control your own stock/promotion in an affordable high street unit. You also receive 121 mentoring and business advice whilst in store.
Q. What do you do when you aren’t popped up?
A. Sleep! Just kidding – each pop up takes weeks of planning and a whole lot of muscle power to get up and running. I am also a writer, and take on various freelance projects on a consultancy basis so plenty to occupy my time. Oh, and I have two small children so sleep is generally limited…
